Hey everyone,I find this place very helpful, and I learn some nice stuff here.... thanks for all the nice people around.... !- I am building my index page and I want to make it ready for the next google. How do I need to make the main page? do I need to include in the text ALL the keywords I want to be found with? - What are the things you guys doing before building up the main page.I got a nice suggestion from someone who told me to check out http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion/?keywords=and try to put as much keywords as I can in the body.- Also, he told me that the most important things are H1 text, META Tags, Title.Do I need to follow those leads?Thank you guys for any help in this matter... Cdx.I'm not exactly an expert, but I'll tell you what I've learned from this forum. It seems that meta tags are not really that important for google, but they should still be there. However, don't bother optimizing these for each page because I don't think they are that helpful. H1 tags and the title carry more importance, so make sure that your main heywords are definetly in the title and try to have them in an H1 if it is possible without hurting userability. If you don't already know it is a good idea to use css to alter the H1 tags so there is no extra space on the bottom. Depending on how competitive your keywords are you may either want to target in on one or go for a bunch. A good way to pack in these keywords without making it noticable to a user in a completely fair way is to put them in alt tags of images. I'm really a newbie to all of this too, but I am sure other ppl here can add further advice.Quote:Quote:Phaugh is right, the description tag is still important, even more important in Yahoo and MSN. Before you start anything, do research on the all the keywords you will be using. A few important thing to consider:Title Tag - Each page should have a different title.Description Tag - Each page should have a different description.Keyword tag - Not important on most big search engines. I throw it in for the smaller engines.H1..H2...H3..tags - Not only good for formatting your pages, but they are given extra importance.Bold and Italic - Given a little more importance. I use it here an there when needed.Alt tags - Very small importance, but very good for picture searches.Anchor Text - This is very important. Any links you have within your site or backlinks from other sites, try to use your most important terms within the link whenever possible. Get directory listings in DMOZ, Yahoo Directory and others. Most Important - CONTENT!Im sure there are more points, rushin right now vetofunk...what do you think?Of using the linked to page title for your anchor text when linking to a page.If you have navigation and you have a page that is about "pink disco biscuits" and a page about "green disco biscuits", I do think that the anchor text should say exactly that.Is that what you are saying?Yes...Is it viewed as more relevant if the anchor text and the page title it links to are the same.I am not exactly sure if they would be considered for better positioning if they both were the smae, but I would think it is a good idea.
