I have a question that maybe some of you can help me with. My company currently owns/registered over 70 domains.
One domain that is in question is a city domain cityofclayton.com for example. We have recently had some one hack or figure out the user name and password to get in to the webmail for this domain and pose as if they were the mayor of the city in an email. We think that this was just a joke by a co-worker of whom the email was sent to. We have seen a copy of this email that was only a few sentences like/ Hi how are you doing, let me know if there is any thing I can do to help out, and of course signed by the mayor of this city.
Now we have this city wanting to investigate our company.
Do they have legal right to the domain name?
Do they have the right to do any thing for that matter?
Your info would be of great importance.
