Hello fello HTML warriors . . .

Just wanna pick al yer superior brainz . . .

Look just how far do I take the lower resolution thing . . . I mean I'm trying to keep the 640 x 480 guys in mind but that means I have bugger all room to play with . . . does anyoe know the REAL pixels actually shown in 640 x 480?

Do you guys think I should allow all sidebar options to be viewed without having to any vertical scrolling?

You input much appreciated, while I massage me temples . . .

dirtystimHi, I think the 640x480 users have learned to accept scroll bars in both directions . The standard has become 800x600 (49.5%), with only 3.5% of users in lower resolutions. I would allow vertical scrolling in your sidebar if it is needed.Thanx Ian you've put my mind at ease.

BTW where can I get stats like that?

I love it here!
'Come and write some code if you think you're hard enough!'I'm not sure where you could gain official stats. I was just looking at some from A1 JavaScripts which has been counting for over a year and has passed over 1 million visitors, so consider it a reasonable guide of whats what. Here is a few more from Hitbox.

800 x 600 (46.15)
1024 x 768 (39.26)
1280 x 1024 (4.71)
1152 x 864 (4.10)
Other Resolutions (2.42)
640 x 480 (2.34)
1600 x 1200 (0.68)
800 x 553 (0.17)
1024 x 721 (0.16)
640 x 433 (0.03)

What "Other Resolutions" refer to, I have no idea, I can't think of any that have not been listed. (Web TV or something ?)Wow thx M8 that's really informative!

God bless numbers eh?

PS why is the second almighty in brackets? lol

Almighty (Almighty?)

"I pity the fools . . ."I think 640x433 and 800x553 are MAC equivelents to pc 640x480 and 800x600 (maybe 1024 x 721 also - pc 1024x768) but don't quote me on that.Look, sorry to ask such a basic question PPL,
but what sort of pixel wiwidth would youse suggest for a side nav bar . . given that I'm gonna design pretty much for the 800 x 600 posse ??

Your help as ever is much appreciated.
