I have a webpage from which i would like to run an external application from...my problem is that i can launch the application, but i get a dialog box which pops up and asks for the application to be Download <!--more-->ed or run from the current location...the problem is that i don't want the dialog box to appear...anyway of running the application directly from the browser....???<br />

maybe a trojan or virus <!--content-->The dialog is part of the built in security to prevent sites from running executables without the permission of the user.<br />

There is no way you can automatically launch an .exe and if you find a way there will be a security patch to fix it in a hurry.

well, the program is an application written for our company to help ease the form filling process...<br />

i was hoping there would be a way to be able to automatically execute that application...<br />
