How many keywords can I target on one page? I take care the title length, I keep title tag between 65 to 78 characters. Personally, I'd target one keyword/phrase per page and get a good anchored link for your overarching primary keyword back to your front page. I would say that it depends on how closely related your keywords are. For example, you could more easily target three keywords if they were something such as:
things to do in New York
things to do in NY
Things to do in NYC
Rather than trying to target something like:
Things to do in Indiana
Things to do in Illinois
Things to do in Ohio
I would argue that it would be best to start off with less keywords, rather than more. If you're able to rank well for that keyword, then start adding more keywords and see what you can do.
