I have had great listing in Google for a few of our important keywords
for a few months now - now all listing have been disappeared from serp.
At this point we are at a complete loss as to why and how it can be

Hope you are not have de-SERP for more than 2 days. it's normal because you are not he only one that used to rank a keyword in my thoughths you have stop working on those competitive keywords or because of google penalize your website for those keywords but this is at very rare situation . Just keep working on those keywords I hope you will get your keyword back to that postion where they are previous. When this happens you cant panic and look for answers. The best solution, honestly, is keep doing what you're doing, as long as its white hat to ensure no penalties are there, and keep building solid links, should put you back in place.
