My webpage is located on geocities and has redirection through cjb.net (www.protoporia.cjb.net) . Most of the times I visit either of those addresses, I get an error popup and some other times I don't! I don't seem to find the error in the html code. Therefore I attach here the code in a txt file for you to tell me what is going on!!! Thanx

P.S. The encoding is in Greek.use 4.01, not 4.0, thats a start. If you are on geocities, have you ever considered their ad code to be part of the problem? That stuff I am sure is poor quality.Thanx.... The Dreamweaver version I have supports up to 4.0 If I just write 4.01 it would be the same?no. Just change the doc type to 4.01 transitional and use the code for 4.01 trans. Or better yet, if you are ambitious use 4.01 strict, or xhtml. It's not their ad code... or is somewhere I cannot see!!!
Forgot to say that the error is always on line 170 in every page. How can that be possible!?!?!their is a screw up on line 170 of every page, or there is a bug before there like a closed tag to early so a bunch of elements are out of place, one of them in line 170. Post the link to the validation. What do you mean by post the link to the validation?!?!?Originally posted by oceanic
What do you mean by post the link to the validation?!?!?
I am assuming that he is assuming that you know that there's an error and the line number because you ran it though a validator. Such as the W3C Validator. (http://validator.w3.org/)You assumed wrong obviously!! I'll give it a shot.. Thanx!!Originally posted by oceanic
Lol :D.

Anyhoo, how do you know which error the line is on, then?he said 70, but we can't see all of the code without the validator link. I do not feel like uploading that stuff he posted onto my server to validate it right now.... Ugh, I might laterLine 170, column 20: an attribute value must be a literal unless it contains only name characters (explain...).
^
That was the error on that line!!!!!!!! Most of the mistypes are like this.
Why does it say at the beggining that the page is not valid 4.0 html? Now I'm quite positive you checked your site at the W3C validator, no? If so, could you post a link to the results?I knew the line the error is from the popup error window in page loadinghttp://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.geocities.com%2Fprwtoporia%2Findex.html&charset=windows-1253+%28Greek%29&doctype=%28detect+automatically%29Any luck with that? There are thousands of errors albeit what that one meant, was you didn't use quotes: "#ffffff" also you might have to make any offending JavaScript external.Back again...
I've corrected the code except from that one thing in line 101 because I don't know how!!! The error keeps appearing when I open the site. Do you think it may be a geocities ad code error not mine?

How can I make my javascripts external?

http://www.protoporia.cjb.net (The error appears on this url)The error you get is because of Geocities code.
