Suggestions on the best way to compress jpegs i would like the most compression with the least amount of image loss..Unfortunately it's pretty much a direct trade-off between compression and quality loss.. I have some info about it on my FAQ site:
Lan's FAQ, image formats page (http://www.fluffygryphlets.btinternet.c ... mats.shtml)Thank you!If you want my advice,

here are a few tips I've picked up through trial and error:

For normal photos, try and keep them fairly small, somewhere around 400 x 300 or so. Then, compress it in paint shop pro at about a 10 compression rate, and it should be pretty darn small, and not too bad looking. If you really want to have a larger image, then let the user Download it seperately and just put up with the large size.

If you have a huge image thats fairly vital to the site, blur it and then compress it very heavily and it will take on a different kind of distortion that doesn't look as bad as regular photo compression.
