I want to check whether a domain was registered on or before May 30, 2008. Is there any service that offers this? The reason for this is today I checked for a domain on both namecheap and godaddy, which was available at the time. But two or three minutes later, when I tried to register the domain (a celebrity name, .com) it showed the domain was already registered with godaddy on May 25. So, I just want to make sure the domain was really registered on May 25, 2008. Also can anybody tell me how often whois data (I mean the registered or unregistered status of a domain) is updated? I think it should be updated real time (usually in seconds). Also has anybody experienced this kind of situation before? Either there was a problem with that domain status or does godaddy practice this kind of evil business and then sell that domain on backorder?
