Hi all... When I hear myself asking this question, it sounds a bit silly. But few times already I had this question in mind. Do you think the first time google index your site is important to future ranking? Do u think it's good to wait until your site is 100% ready for indexing? - I didn't exchange links with other sites yet, because I didn't want google to find my site. I know few people do the same. Maybe it's a wrong approach...? Guy.I think Google uses the cached version of each site to re-build its index, every time a page is visited and a fresh cache is taken the index changes. The internet is so large it doesn't appear logical to keep out of date data. Therefore I don't believe that a delaying will make any difference. If your using spam tactics then I suspect there are manual flags that get set which may stay on longer etc.Clarethe index page normally gets crawled daily.. inside pages take time to get crawled.didnt know the crawls were that frequentcdx wrote:I normally submit my near completed sites to SE and dirs.Just a template and some contents on each page= submission time. leave the rest of work for later.good stuff and bad stuff alike come on the web all the time...only time will tell what it is. Google is usually gonna find you from a link and the time most new sites get spidered google is only gonna know of one or few links to it.Quote:Well, you've gotta remember one thing. Part of what many search engines like is that a site's been around a while. If it's going to take you 6 months to get your site up and running, I'd at least have SOMETHING with a bit of content on the domain (relative to the future subject of the site) for search engines to look at so they know you've not just turned up overnight Valid point axe. What about posting and interlinking the pages that are completely finished...then slowly grow the site as you finish the remaining pages...this would make it appear as though you had a site and added new content and pages....google likes that right?I have to agree with Axe ... get the clock ticking ASAP.As soon as I have 5 good pages together I start submitting to directories ... many take 4 - 8 weeks to review your site ... especially DMOZ.Besides search engines like sites that are updated frequently and will crawl them more often especially when your site is gonna be collecting links, start early is best. So that the popularity of the site does not seem overnight!sandboxed, anybody?
