At times I ask my self, all day we are looking for tips & tricks to get high ranking in search engines. Now, is SEO inherently ethical(I'm not talking about Black hat techniques)? does SEO means trying to over smart (trick) the search engines?
I don't have problem with onsite SEO techniques that helps crawlers to know about my site better. But link building which is in a way gaining votes which suppose to happen naturally (as you are not suppose to vote for your selves right?) makes me think again.
However if we ignore the voting factor, link-building is a way to get direct traffic as well.

Google talks about link baiting, meaning that you post first class content on your site which creates interest and builds links back to your site in a natural way. SEO is not tricking one because it is optimizing your website to the search engine. What you have in your site and where you have backlinks these calculation will be acting by search engine and your websites. Your website can find by search throguh your title and description which is placed through your back link calculation. So Back Link is decided to which place your website is? there is not trick in SEO. According to me SEO means not tricking the search engine... SEO help search engines to provide accurate data ...... We all have to follow in search engine friendly way ....
