Hi, I have been looking all over the forums about people being hit by googlebot. Well I am not. Also my site had a PR3 and now the pagerank bar has turned all white- i.e. a zero PRHas this got something to do with my page's size? 93K it is. Should I reduce the no. of links. Please look into my website http://www.pottersrealm.com and let me know.I show PR3 for your site. Go to: http://www.mcdar.net/Q-Check/datatool.asp which allows you to see the PR each datacenter has for your site. As far as getting Googlebot to visit frequently, get more links (preferably from sites similar or relevant to yours). The more links you have the more likely Googlebot will trip over them and visit your site.As to the page size, it's always good to have it load quickly and since many internet users are still on dial-up it makes even more sense to do so. I have heard that Google takes load time into consideration for rankings but am not sure about it.My page though it is 73K now, loads in about 5 sec. Most of the segment is precached and even GZip Compression is on.I just did a linkback search for my site on yahoo and Google. Google shows 52 backlinks and Yahoo shows 746 backlinks. Which one is correct? And for 746 backlinks, what would be my PR?ok a correction, MSN 716 backlinksYahoo 865 backlinksGoogle 52 backlinksPages Indexed:Google 4980Yahoo 1MSN 202Why isnt google showing my backlinks? What should my PR be for this data?Google seems to be a little slower in reporting backlinks. I have found MSN to be much faster with this. Yahoo seems to report every link they find, even duplicates in a footer include and the like. All links aren't created equal. Their ranking algorithm is much more complicated and constantly changing. Don't expect them to share their secrets on this either. PR alone does not translate to higher rankings either. You should be concentrating on two things mainly: (1) Quality links from related sites (there's some speculation that where your link is placed on the page makes a difference. i.e. footer, within text surrounded by related keywords, etc.(2) Quality content. (the more the better)This is just my understanding but it seems to have helped me and a few others that I know of.Google seems to be having a problem swallowing your home page ...Check the cached image athttp://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache:6ePQsxISYv8J:www.pottersrealm.com/+&hl=en&lr=&strip=1A site: search shows ...http://www.google.com/search?q=site:www.pottersrealm.com&hl=en&lr=&rls=GGLD,GGLD:2004-10,GGLD:en&start=0&sa=NQuote:What do mean by "problem swallowing your home page"?BillW wrote:
