I can't seem to find the exact issue that messes with the mac IE, is anyone else more experienced at IE5 for Mac issues?

I know you can cut out certain css tags from MacIE but I'll be buggered if I know what I need to change.

cheers,I don't normally do this but *bump*

why can't IE for mac just go away and die.TRY THIS (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.tillc.com/spiralOz.htm">http://www.tillc.com/spiralOz.htm</a><!-- m -->)

I am curious as to why you think it is neccessary to use 100x30 pixels (images/navup.gif) when you can get the same effect by using only 1x30 pixels with a repeator bg?Duly noted.
It was because I was still initially using an image tag and not background images, which made me have to overlap the text by using negative padding and margins, which made IE5Mac go batty.

Your solution worked like a charm, thanks heaps for that one.Just a note, when putting this list style menu inside a div, add

padding-left: 0;

to the #menu ID, otherwise it's indented in Mozilla browsersYes, that and setting the body margins / padding to 0.

Test it in Opera 6.02 on OS X because it may cause problems when nested inside of a div. IE 5 (Windows) will need an alternative style sheet with certain margin specifications to work properly. Other than that, its good to go and far more stable and sensible than what you had.<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69234">http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/showt ... hp?t=69234</a><!-- m -->

more issues with mac ie5 but it's a seperate issue so I made a new threadJust a note. Under services, *competant* is spelled *competent*. You mispelled it twice. Also, there is a gap in the word (off er). Just looks a bit funny if you are trying to reel in some business.I don't normally do this but *bump*

why can't IE for man just go away and die.
lol ! That's what I ask myself everytime I make a design... :)
But everytime, I manage to make it work in IE mac too, so...
Yeah, you're right, they should either drop it, or update it. It's not updated anymore, but in the first place, it was quite a good browser.
But still, you have some bugs that could have been fixed long ago.
Anyway, it's the browser used by at least 50% of the mac people, so it's worth making it work, even if it's painfull..
BTW, nice design. I like it.My new mac issue is here..... <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69234">http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/showt ... hp?t=69234</a><!-- m -->
