two points to this thread.1)one of my competitors has 311 backlinks however only 41 are from external sites, the rest are from his own internal pages, Ive always believed internal links dont count for much, does internal linking have any weight with googles ranking methods?2)does google just look at the pr of the page where the link is placed, if for example the home page has a pr 3, but the links page where my link is placed has a pr 0 do I get a slice of pr0.Heres my babble... internet linking has little weight. every page atttribute a little page rank, Generally, the more pages the website/forum has, the better. Although some may consider the negative impact of having many pages -dilution- that I am not too sure it happens too much.. my guess is even if it happens, it is near negligible.and google looks at the page where the link is placed. not the home page. How odd ... normally we agree madmonk ... you must be trying to generate discussion. That is an outrage, because I know the link has been spread all over the web.Fact seems to be that Google does not count all pages where the link has been spread.Next, most important question is:How do I recognize if a webpage, where the link is going to be placed, counts for google as a "backling-page"??Please be so kind to help me out by answering this burning question.Thank you for your consideration!Best"There is no such thing as a strange world, only a new one."The Alchemisthttp://www.warriorofthelight.comQuote:To add to madmonk's tip use MSN Search as well link:www.yourdomain.com. It can arguably return the most accurate backlink amount (if you have been indexed of course)magic wrote:Msn is very accurate. and reactive to changes.i make some changes to the web sites and I can see results a few days later.thats good.Dear Madmonk and Gardenstew, thank you very much for your replies.I thought I won
