Hi guys I'm looking for an advise regarding to internal linking.
Let's say I have a page called "product photography", and within the page I make a link to my home page. This is internal link right?
What's the point of that if I already have a link called "Home" on the top menu bar that links to my home page? Isn't this 2 links in 1 page and it's redundant? Yes that is internal linking and in your "home" example it would be redundant linking and the only reason why you would do it is for the convenience of your visitors unless the keyword anchored link comes before the "home" button in the code.
Google only counts the first link it comes across that goes to the same address. Depending how your page is set up if your anchored text code comes before your menu code you can gain the benefit of having your keyword in your link.
Why is it important to have keywords in your links or interlinks?
When Google spiders your page it gives more value to the keywords in your anchored text, especially if it relevant to the keyword density on your page or article. Linking and interlinking with your keywords in your anchor text is a must do SEO practice. Well theres alot that goes into this. If you didn't have that link on the front that says "Home" then you would have to
