Hi everyone,<br /><br />I need to set up the EPrints software (<a href="http://www.eprints.org" target="_blank">http://www.eprints.org</a>) on my site -- basically it's a pretty solid, free digital repository system.<br /><br />The issue is that it's all in Perl, and I haven't really worked with Perl before, so I'm not sure how to go about installing it on my account.<br /><br />They have an install docs wiki (<a href="http://wiki.eprints.org/w/Documentation" target="_blank">http://wiki.eprints.org/w/Documentation</a>), but I didn't quite understand how I could run the installation and config scripts without having command line access to the server?<br /><br />So could someone help me out with this?<br /><br />Thanks <img src="http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /><!--content-->
From looking at the installation instructions it appears that the script requires customized server configurations. I do not think that it would be possible on a shared server. You would likely need a dedicated server to run the program.<!--content-->
Sorry but that's not something we will install on our shared servers, you will need a dedicated solution for that.<!--content-->
