I put my new site, http://www.mothersfamilyrings.com (plug ) up yesterday at 1pm and it was indexed by the end of the day. That is by far the quickest time I have ever got a site indexed.Gotta love Google!thats fast vetofunk.nice site btw, wanna link exchange? Cool, but nice site too.Quick suggestion - the orange rollover is hard on the eyes when used in the gray background for the links section.Gotta love it when things work the way they are supposed to.Now you just need to get listed in DMOZ in less than a month Thanks for the tip about the orange rollover. I will look into changing that. Anything else you guys can think about...I would love some advice. I should probably send this site over the review threads.MadMonk - Send me your link info and Ill get you mine. With DMOZ, the editor of the category I want to be in is a very good editor. She updated once every week or two so I am hoping to get in within a few weeks. Here's more...1) The images on the front page have a nice white (transparent?) background. This is the perfect look you want. White promotes purity, quality, authenticity. In fact, it's positive connotations are countless. But when you click on one of these images (eg two stone) it takes you too a page where the images have black backgrounds. This causes a lack of consistency and could most likely affect consumer confidence. Go all white and your one-step closer to a beautiful and simple site.2) Text in paragraphs could be formatted as such <div class="justify"> your text </div>Why? Because formatted (neat) paragraphs add professionalism.3) The banner....hmmm, its not bad, but could be better. Ok, stick with the clouds theme, but you need an image that brings out the white in the clouds and the blue in the sky. An image where colours contrast in bright and fresh imagery. It'll come alive!Apart from that, you've created a site that's in-tune with its product and service. PS...did you do both the front-end (visuals, aesthetics) and back-end (design, coding)? PPS...maybe this thread should be moved to reviews.Wow...you have mentioned 1/2 the things on my list.1/ We are currently looking into a new banner. My fiance' is a photoshop girl so she will be working on a new design...she hates the way it looks now...and so do I. We just put something up. I am glad others think the same way.2/ With the homepage pics, these were also once black as well. We are currently changing all the other pictures to look this way as well...just takes a while when they all are in black to begin with. I am glad again that this is what you see as being a better look. With the other points...I will look into it. I need to move this over to reviews, but I need to review three other sites before I can ask others to review my site. Thanks! No probs. The way I see it, you don't have issues with the back-end stuff such as site design, e-commerce, user functionality, etc. Everything is there to guide the user to a hassle-free purchase (should they wish that). With a bit of tweaking your looking at going from good site to something really nice that will set your apart from the pack.Nice concept too. I actually have a freind who is working on a site in a similar nature to yours (bases in Australia), but with a slight difference.Well I will get all these changes moving...and then put this in reviews. The same with me with my site indusoverseas.com, I got optimized and added some backlinks and in 4-5 days period, It was all the top in all my Keywords in Yahoo, i didnt see such fast moving in any of my site, Yahoo favoured me first time with such huge reward very good reviews George. I should get some reviews on my sites from you in future. Quote:
