Increasing PR?

What are some great ways to increase the PR of my website? I have read about blogging and search engines and such,but is there anything more that can be done.I know there is no quick fix, but how long can it take to go up for example from a 3 to a 5?All comments are appreciated!PR does not directly realte to your rankings in google so the fascination with it can be a waste of resources, however PR of a page is increased by other sites linking to you.PR changes come into effect immediately as soon as google finds links to your pages however tool bar PR that you see is only updated irregularly, an uodate is happening just now so any work on increaisng your PR would not be seen visually for quite a few months now.Hi,If ur site is ready and Online:-U can have other relevant sites link to yours.Make sure all the sites that should know about your pages are aware your site is online.Submit your site to relevant directories such as the Open Directory Project and Yahoo!, as well as to other industry-specific expert sites.Make a site with a clear hierarchy and text links. In fact, sites with lower PR have higher search results in google. I tried it out and its true. There is a great site with tools that I had found that shows different stats of your site or others. I think that there is a misconception on PR and importance. If having a higher PR gave a site higher results in Google then I can see why many people would focus on it. It seems that there are other factors that determine a sites importance.pagerank is out of date data and only takes into consideration the amount and PR of backlinks.It's not worth worrying about it.I wouldnt worry about the page rank as much, its the content which matters more.PR is not outdated, it is not just given as much importance as earlier. Still PR is the only indicator of the importance of a page. SERPS will be decided by a number of factors, including PR. Other factors include archor text, title, content, quality of links pointing, age etc.. etc.Get quality one way links to your sites, as much as possible. Also make sur e that you follow best guidelines of on page optimizartions.PR is outdated. It's only updated 4 times a year.If i gave you statistics for your site that are 4 months old would you think those stats are worth worrying about?Toolbar PR is outdated, actual PR changes constantly but as Meman said toolbar PR data only gets pushed a few times a year so that we can see it and when it is updated it's old data that's a snapshot of probably a month ago or longer so unless your selling links it has little value and doesn't correlate to rankings.Indeed. At least form my research PR seems to be "fresher" on the other data centers. Under all circumstances, getting high PR backlinks with good anchor text will always be a good thing, even if you can not view a totally up-to-date PR.I agree with meman, google updates PR every 3 months. My young site, http://www.Arizona4Pinoys.com, is an example. After waiting for months, I finally saw a PR1 - PR3 on some of my pages 2 days ago. Accordingly, google just updated PR ranking.But my homepage is still PR0 which is my most visited page, 2x or 3x more from my other pages. I guess it's the kind of links that really matter.There isn't much left in the PR factor now. Sites with low PR are listed well above the sites with PR6 and above. PR does not boost your business at all.
