Hey, If some of you SEOers are as good as you say you are then why are you still optimizing sites for other people and not sitting on a beach with your laptop managing your huge network of online stores? The SEO company I work for has a client that is making 1,000,000 a year off of his web site. Maybe it is just because you can not find time for your own personal sites like me . What do you guys think?Well, i'm not an SEO'r by profession or professional for that matter but i see what you're trying to say, i guess it's lack of ambition. If someone has eccelent skills regarding SEO and can a website rank well they can either start their own SEO company and or also start some e-commerce sites. Regarding e-commerce sites it's hard to beat the competition since they are established for quite some while now.By the way, why are you still working for a company Also, setting up a store selling products requires an initial investment in those products that many people are unable to make.Personally, I only SEO for around 2 or 3 clients a year now. I do work on my own sites the rest of the time. I consider myself a pretty good SEO, work for an SEO company, but I also work with my family's jewelry business, which pulls me an extra 10k/year (percentage of sales), and then created my own affiliate sites, that pull me an extra 30k/year. Once I feel like leaving and going out on my own, I will, but I love where I work, my clients, and with the people I work...couldn't have a better job.SEO_Pro. wrote:It's a question of risk...If you're risking your money (and your family's, and your house, etc), it's a bit too much some to handle. When you're working for somebody else, and it's their money on the line, and you get paid regardless, it's a lil different.
