If a domain hacked? Getback your domain?

I read something about it, i only for the security.On godaddy my friends tell me if someone stole a name, if i can fax my credit card godaddy give me the domain back.But i mailed them and they told "it is up to the cause" So, is there anyone have some experiments about getting back a hacked domain on different registrars.(i make a small search but could not find actual information)
