I still see some sites that are listed twice in dmoz..

not sure if this is the correct forum for this post.... there are still some sites that are listed in two categories in dmoz.how is that possible ? will they get double the effect of dmoz(ie. listed in more more places) .?due to error of dmoz editors? I edit in some of the Danish categories. We accept dublets if the site does not interlink and also reginoal listnings for each company. You can read the gereral guidelines here http://dmoz.org/help/cats.htmlYou can get a category listing and a regional listing. That is usually the max I have seen. I do have one client that has 3 listings. This was due to me submitting two and then another editor picking up one of our products and displaying the page in his category. It all depends on how important editors feel your site is to their category. You could probably have an even greater amount if you covered different areas and editors felt your site was important to all their categories.interesting. and i thought it was all a mistake to have 2 listings in dmoz. will that mean twice the effect??i've noticed also that there are a lot of links to sites which no longer exist. it appers DMOZ are pretty lazy with maintainence.I wouldn't say lazy, there is just so much work to do. I just became the editor of another category which has over 200 awaiting sites and it is still one of the smaller ones. You have to remember that everyone there is a volunteer and they edit when they can.If you see broken links, report them to the editor or on the forums at http://www.resource-zone.com.yeah. seems like there are too many sites for that few editors..
