Hey everyone, I'm in dire need of some advice. I need someone who knows a lot about SEO to help me out here. I am new to SEO and what I mainly do is backlinking; I create backlinks and I negotiate backlink renting/buying for the clients of my new employer.
Well, here's the deal. I have 3 clients that I am doing all the backlinking for. My job is to create a natural trail of backlinks for these three clients to help their rankings. Well, at a glimpse this looks very easy:
Why is it not that easy? Because each client wants to be ranked for multiple keywords on multiple pages. Here is an example:
CLIENT #1 (example.com)
They want their home page to be ranked for about 6 keywords.
Then they want example.com/blah to be ranked for 6 more keywords.
Then they want example.com/noU to be ranked for 8 keywords.
SO, to create natural backlinks for this ONE website to be ranked in the keywords that they want, my work is actually creating about 500 backlinks A DAY for just this one client... AND I HAVE 3 CLIENTS that I am supposed to do this for; that I am supposed to keep up their backlinks and improve their Google ranking/listing.
I really need someone knowledgeable to give me advice. Maybe I'm wrong by assuming that I have to do backlinks for EVERY keyword EVERY day. How do SEO companies/firms go about doing this? How would YOU go about doing this?
I'm afraid to ask the guy that hired me on how I am supposed to do this because I don't want him to think I don't know what I'm doing! I just came into this thinking that I would be keeping up natural looking backlinks for one keyword per site per day. =S
Please reply or PM! Anyone that thinks they're going to get 500 backlinks per day without having exceptional, link worthy content is living on another planet. You need to manage their expectations - give them a realistic figure for your link building efforts: 5, 10, 15 links per day, whatever you feel is realistic.
Don't get down, by the sounds of it you're new to this but we all were once. Here's a little info for you - one of my niches is incredibly competitive but I've managed to climb to pages 1,2,3 for some pretty tough phrases. I use a range of methods from getting quality links to using blog comments/forum sig links (hint) and article directories (hint - add these two together and...well, you can work it out). The last three methods are relatively low value but they've given me a significant boost. What does that tell you? The competition must also be collecting crap links!
Hang in there, learn some and above all; go back to your client and tell them the truth. If they ditch you it's because you're green you can always build your rep up as you advance. If you lie and they find out, they'll ditch and tell everyone they know that you lied to them - quite a bit harder to recover from.
Now go to it. Well, I mean. He knows I'm new and all! Hell, he decided to hire me for what he calls "part time" after I did backlinks for him on Fiverr! Haha. I just don't know how I am supposed to help these sites rank for about 20 keywords making natural backlins every day.
He said that my main goal is just to make backlinks to them so that every couple of months when he gives them a backlink report it shows that their total number of backlinks has increased by a lot. BUT, on the flip side he said that we want good results from the backlinks as well. Over the next two months if our services work well enough for one #1 client we will pick up a couple more clients through them that will make our overall profits skyrocket! So I want to deliver results through my backlinking.
"I just don't know how I am supposed to help these sites rank for about 20 keywords making natural backlins every day." Lol.

- Create an email address for each one.
- Go through my list of places to backlink and leave my client's links every day.
- That's all!
