It means a host outside the us and canada :3 but well i think there aren't a lot of them for free

Off shore hosting is hosting your site in a country other than Canada or the United States of America as these two countries will comply with piracy laws (copyright infringement ) and your site will be suspended by your server company/ and or you will need to purchase said license.

I live in the UK, But host my webs in the US and have done for about 6 years now.

I mainly done it because it was cheaper, but since the exchange rates have fucked up thesedays- I'm not really benefiting from using an American host.

After reading the above posts- I understand that hosting my sites in America and Canada are the only places I SHOULDN'T be hosting my websites?

So if I find a good host in the UK (Where I live), this would still be classed as 'Offshore'?
