I really hate people that sit there and hold on to domains trying to make big money reselling them. There's enough to go around for everybody and it gets really old looking for a domain.
I think it should be a law to restrict this practice. it's just not fair. Especially when it is your name, or your business, or personal site Take DennisDesigns.com (http://www.dennisdesigns.com) for instance. I want that domain. My name is Dennis, I am a Designer. Why can some domain reseller just sit there with it on hold?
Or how about when they steal it from you while you're asleep and they call you trying to sell it back to you:
My sister runs a farm and she sells milk. (go figure) She bought her domain for $10 and when it expired, some domain nazi registered it, called her on the phone and tried to sell it back to her for $2,500.
One idea I have is that a company should not be allowed to hold more than say 500 domains.
Another idea is that they cannot hold innactive domains for more than 1 year.
The third idea is not going to fly, but I've considered resorting to violence. I seriously hate these guys as they have no shame. But I seriously would like to get a bill started and try to pass it, restricting their monopolies.
If you were going to start a bill against domain name resellers, (and the like) what restrictions would you put on the bill? (domain nazis need not reply)
