HTML vs. Java Web Interface

Hello.
I was wondering about the cons and pros of using HTML (in opposite to Java) as web interface for network appliances.
Is it really possible to get similar level of features (such as graphs, menus?) without using Java?

Appreciate any opinion!
Thanks.HTML is a Text Markup Language... Don't know what you want to do, but with only HTML, you can't make such things as in Java (JavaScript is something else!).

For example with ActiveX controls (standard at IE) you can draw, and with other things you can do things which you can do with Java but... think it's better to use Java

What do you want?
JayDieMaybe I can better explain my question with an example, many appliances management systems (e.g. CiscoWorks ,NetScout, infovista) uses Java for their GUI interface. Java seems good for things like active graphs and sophisticated menus but require special plugin and it鎶
