Howto "PLEASE WAIT AS IMAGES LOAD"

I have a site which has a few rotating images in a script that load upon visit. When you hit the site, I want aline to appear above the image box that says "please wait, images loading." I guess maybe it should flash. And then it would wait for 15 seconds or whatever. How do I write this?<!--content-->
