Now that's a good question. Take a look at this blog post before commenting.

Quote: Google Plus has been live for barely two weeks, but inevitably, online marketers and search engine optimization experts are curious about how the new social product might influence organic search rankings in the future.

Officially, there's no official indication of how Plus will affect SEO, but plenty of speculation and some obvious hints about where things may be headed.

Signs Point to Social Factors Influencing Search Rankings

Even before Google rolled out the +1 button (a precusor to Google Plus itself), social factors from sites like Twitter and Facebook were already being baked into search engine result pages (SERPs), even if the extent of their immediate influence on Page Rank wasn't immediately obvious.

For example, research has indicated that the.... Continued at: http://www.readwriteweb.com/biz/2011...act-on-seo.php

It's just way to early to tell how Plus will effect SEO. It might be a few more months till we hear anything from Google or much sooner. I'm not a SEO expert and not going to make any guess's.

Just because google offers it, doesn't mean that anything will become of it.

Social networking is hard.

Interesting that google has distanced themselves from twitter, but probably appropriate, twitter was just asking for a group of people to manipulate google through RT.

Not everyone wants their information filtered through what their friends think, I personally think that FB has already pushed that envelope way beyond the reasonable.

I'd like to have access to new pov and time to think about the relevancy before knowing how many of my friends have agreed or disagreed...

I'm not a big "ditto" type, I don't like to believe that the world is primarily peopled with "sheep" that need the consensus of the cool crowd before they know how to feel.

Maybe I'm a lone voice in the wilderness... maybe people actually do want their search results through the filter of the interests of their network... I don't, and I can't be the only one that's already tired of this trend. It may be a lot earlier how Google Plus affects SEO. However I have heard that it will really affect indexing. Just as twitter previously, now Google Plus will do this magic. But these are just discussions, lets see what happened? Hope for the best. it will affect SEO but i can't tell if it make big impact or not, i can only guess, digging, testing, elaborating. thats the beauty of uncertainty

by the way, i like comment #5 on the blog lol Quote: Originally Posted by warrencreative Pages that generate many +1's will populate earlier on Google search results than those websites and ads that do not. Sounds wrong to do that Sure it will affect SERP, it was also stated by Google about a month ago, but it is still early to say how exactly. I guess it will be related to user reviews. I see the driving force behind Google Plus as twofold. For one Google has to try to cut their piece of the social networking pie. For the first time in a long time, I believe Facebook had more traffic than Google back in December. Google don'ta like. Not one bit.

But secondly I think Google Plus is a calculated measure to make social networking tick marks (tweets, likes, +'s, pickup sticks, wait I made that one up I think) an in-house quantification. Maybe if Google was sentient its inner monologue would have went something like this:

"Wow, that SERP page was way off. How did that crap sneak in? These people are bouncing back in milliseconds. I just don't get it, they should like this stuff, these pages have a bunch of tweets and likes."

"Wait a minute... is it possible.... are those spammers infiltrating these social networks? The social network, that reminds me I have to update my Netflix queue."

"Ahhh more bad results from twitter. That's it, I'm coming up with my own like button, I'll regulate it, I'll police it, I'll know whose scamming me then. And I'll even develop a social network based on it's very name. I need to change the garbage... I hate it when I forget to put a new bag in and I throw garbage into the bare can, and then I have to reach in to get it." Based on Fishkin's experimentations. He proved that even without the
hose from Big G the website he test still got traffic from twitter and even
when it was twitted. I guess Google + has a good effect on SEO why?
Based on the test/experimentation the website he used ranked number 1
in just 2 hours. But still we don't know the effects on the other website.
I guess it will still depend on the relevancy, quality and authoritativeness
of a website. Wow, very interesting about the discussion on Google Plus. I do not know for sure its influence di SEO now. I've tried installing it on some of my blog. But I do not know the changes that occur. But I believe that the usefulness of Google Plus it will happen. ^ You can track it down in your GA or other Analytic tools.
