how valuable are those automatic link exchange network?

Just feel it too slow to manually blog commenting and forum posting. I did these in 5 forums and 10 blogs everyday for nearly one month, but still got no link. So I want to turn to automatic way, such as automatic link exchange network where I just need to upload a PHP script to my website then other sites will link to me. My question is, does anyway have experience of such network? Will it be identified by google and being degraded then? Or could anyone suggest a good way of link building? Thanks. Perhaps reading through this article at Google Webmaster Central will help you decide:

Quote: Your site's ranking in Google search results is partly based on analysis of those sites that link to you. The quantity, quality, and relevance of links count towards your rating. The sites that link to you can provide context about the subject matter of your site, and can indicate its quality and popularity. However, some webmasters engage in link exchange schemes and build partner pages exclusively for the sake of cross-linking, disregarding the quality of the links, the sources, and the long-term impact it will have on their sites. This is in violation of Google's Webmaster Guidelines and can negatively impact your site's ranking in search results. Continued: Link schemes - Google Webmaster Central I would imagine you did get links and that google has recognized them. Google reveals virtually none of the links that it finds. Oh, and of course the thing about blogs is you have no guarantees your comment will be approved. Have you checked to make sure your forums and blogs are dofollow? The low approval rate of blog comments is virtually a problem of blog commenting.

Could be you are on people's auto-blogs that they never go to. Otherwise try to write detailed topical responses. The other thing could be that active bloggers may not like your keyword in your name. If I suspect that I just use my name with a little html signature that says Jake for keyword

I use yahoo siteexplorer as a guide. If they have it, google has it also, and probably long before it shows up in yahoo. Hi goldpeng,

I think I had the same idea as you and you can check out what I have done here to expedite and streamline the link exchange process.

However, not automatic otherwise your going to have big problems with spammers and Google could end up ignoring the links completely. I accept only links from other quality sites in my niche and I approve each one of them manually.

I know the forum, blog and directory posting is time consuming and perpetual, but that is the reality of ground floor SEO. To maintain the quality it is good to create links manually rather using any automatic link exchange network because I think it is not the safe way of promotion. I never been use any automated software so i can't say anything. But as i think this is not good. First off all u need to be sure that ur comments or postings are getting approved in the places u are putting them, then u need to be sure that the links are dofollow in nature cos google does not index nofollow links anymore and one more important thing that I would like to add is always try to make blog comments on pages that has some PR cos that way ur keyword and link both gets a PR juice too. I'm sorry, I don't see how this applies to the original question:
