How to upgrade nulled vB to a later version?

Hi guys,

Was wondering how to do that. I am currently using 3.6.8 ( pre-mod ) for almost a year now. But i want to upgrade to 3.7.X ( pre-mod as well ). Is there a safe way to do that without screwing the users, posts, threads, usergroup, etc.

My current version was pre-modded with different stuff and the new one that i'm installing has way different mods on it. Will it mess anything up?

Would appreciate some help. In details would be really nice.

Welcome to vBTeam.

Just download the latest build and make sure you follow the upgrade instructions step by step and you shouldnt have any major probs. The only probs you will probably need to address are ones to do with hacks, make sure you get them updated to work with your boards too, also themes/skins make sure you get the most upto date xml's.

Ask on these boards if you have any problems im sure someone can help you out.

Thanks for the reply. As mentioned on my first post, my current pre-mod forum have way different stuff with the new version that i'm upgrading to. Is there a way to ignore the old mods and use the mods from the newer vB?

And for instance, my old vB have [HIDE] mod so does the new vB.. I guess it'll overwrite safely without any problems?
 
Sorry to double-post but i guess what i'll be asking is totally different.

Is there a way i could migrate my posts, threads, users, usergroup, etc ( not including mods ) from 1 vB to another? Meaning, i install a different version vB to a new directory and migrate ( all mentioned above ) to the new vB. I hope i'm not making it more complicating that it is.

Always make a full backup of everything before

Admincp>maintenance>>database backup

tick what you wish to back up - save - import into new forums DB via phpMyAdmin

I did those and i received an error.
