How to upgrade from 3.7.5 to 3.8.x?

I'm just about to upgrade my forums to 3.8, but I have a couple of questions that need anwering before I do so-

  1. Should I update to 3.8.0 first, then to 3.8.1, or should I go straight from 3.7.5 to 3.8.1?
  2. I can't remember which nulled release of Vbulletin I used. To upgrade, do I use any release of 3.8.x, or must it be from the same person who released my current version? Eg. If I'm using 3.7.5 which was nulled by GYSN, wen I upgrade, do I need to use the GYSN release (3.8.x?)

If anyone can clear these 2 questions up for me that'd be fantastic then I can update my forums. :)

straight go to 3.8.1

It will update all the release packs automatically includes :- betas , (1 - 4) ; RC 1 and 2 then 3.8.0 Gold and then 3.8.1
This is done automatically :) even if u are upgrading from 3.6.8 to 3.8.1 :) just do what u should be doing and then just install throught /upgrade.php always
NOT install.php
ok :) and remove init and install.php at the end
hope it works

Thanks, but what about my 2nd question?

I 'think' when I installed 3.7.5 it was a GYSN release. But now I have the 3.8.1 DGT release.

Will this be ok to use?

Above question is answered.

I've successfully upgraded to 3.8.0.

Now I have another question-

Should I now delete the /install directory from my web server?

Or just some of the files that are in that directory?

what i do : ----

I rename the file to install2.php and init2.php
ok

I do not delete it, u can delete it always lolz ;) Bye

AND DO NOT DELETE THE INSTALL DIRECTORY , it contains may files which are needed for verification

OK I renamed init.php to init9.php but I don't have install.php in my /install/ directory as I UPGRADED to 3.8.0 and it said not to upload this file.

Are there any other files in my /install/ directory which I should rename to stop hackers from interfering with my forum?
