How To Set A Post Limit For Downloads II

Hi I have Downloads II for vBulletin 3.8.1. Is there a way to make it so that users must have 10 posts before they can download a file? Thanks.
 
I use the advanced permissions based on post count mod. If you do a search you can find it on site for download, it's pretty easy to install and run.

thanks, but i can't find where to enable this for "Download II". I only see attachments and such.
 
Then I'm not sure you have the right mod. Advanced permissions mod allows you to close off entire sections of the forum till a post count is met. I have hundreds of anime and manga titles for direct download on my site and use the mod to restrict access to my download sections.
 
Yup, I'm using both the downloads 2 and the advanced permission. I just set the permission based on post count for the download area as well as threads that contain links to off site hosted downloads.
 
Simple thing I did.

Create a new usergroup...Then create a new promotion standard...You will be able to automatically have members moved to a the said new usergroup once they reach that post limit. This is also easy because you designate which usergroup can view the download forum.

This has worked without a mod and a mod is not really needed. If you do this before your website starts to get big then it will be easier in the long run. I only used the Registered Usersgroup for the first 25 posts on my forum, the rest are promoted to Verified Registered Users.

Its quite simple without having to add a modification!

could you briefly explain how to setup permissions for downloads 2? i can't find it. i can't find an option for this "download area". please help. thanks

good idea, i will try it. bad thing is that i have 300+ users...lol
 
Why don't you try post #8? Even if you have 20,000 members, it won't be a problem. You just need to create a promotion then let the scheduled task system do the rest.
