How To move from domain/forum to domain/

i was reading a thread having nothing to do with this question, but i think it is a valid one since i too am thinking of doing the same thing. so, here are the quotes from that thread pertaining to the question:

I thought I could make it work like portal or template on main domain and forum on /forum.

No, its a little like vBa in that sense, you just renmae yout current index.php file to forum.php and upload index.php found in attachment. You could always move your forum to the main directory.

But I am worried now to move forum as it might affect google links and some mods.

so the question is as the title says

"How To move from http://domain.com/forum to http://domain.com/" without losing or destroying anything

one way to do it without moving a single thing is to make http://yourdomain.com/ redirect to http://yourdomain.com/forum.

You would need to do this through your sites cpanel.

Admincp >>vBulletin Options >> vBulletin Options >> Site Name / URL / Contact Details

Change "forum url"

Step 2:
Move everything to main root directory

Step 3:
Upload tools.php file found in the "Do not upload folder" and reset cookies
