How to modify user information when viewing threads

how would I go about modifying the location of the side banner in the view thread page that shows the posters username avatar and such. in the skin I have right now the banner shows above the users post. I would like to have it to the left of the post. How would I go about doing this?

For example the box above me^^^^ that says my username and other information. How would I relocate that to be to my left?
 
AdminCP -> vBulletin Options -> Style & Language Options -> Use Legacy (Vertical) Postbit Template -> set to Yes and Save.
 
You may be using a skin, such as one in the _fox series, that need a different XML file uploaded to make use of the legacy postbit. What skin are you using?
 
It should have been in the skin archive. If I recall correctly, the bluefox# XML is fixed using legacy, the bluefox#+ is fluid using legacy. Uninstall the XML you are currently using and reinstall either of the XMLs to achieve legacy.
 
when I reinstall the xml will it keep my modifications? Or will I have to back it up? Or can I just overwrite the XML?
