How to minimize ShoutBox lag

I am using currently Inferno's vBShout Pro 2.5.1 and it's lagging like a beast. I've tried everything. I took away all color options font options only thing allowed are links. The size is default of 100 and refresh speed isn't lower then 10. I've gone from refresh speed of 10 to 60 or 30 and between all that and still lag. I've also noticed that a friend of mine with the same shoutbox has lagging issues too. I wanted to know if there's anyway to stop it or if it's just like that :/
 
check your admincp and shoutbox options there if some LOG markers are on, also have inferno but no problems on this, you can try alternative ways... remove shoutbox and install a chatbox modification there less intensive mostly
 
If you set the refresh time to 10 it will take literally 10 seconds to get the new shouts. If you AOP enabled then refreshing will take place when new content is posted.
