how to make notifications Flash

i want to make it where if the user has an unread notification the box its in goes crazy and flashes alll sorts of colors how do i do this

(TO SOME PEOPLE:ive seen this on another forum, dont tell me i cant do this)
 
depends, if you want a simple "blinking" use <blink></blink>. If you want something more elaborate like mixed colors then you need to use javascript to wrap you message, probably a custom plugin/template would be needed. I think you may be talking about something like the intro message HERE. This display uses a javascript wrapper, FYI
