Hello,
I have been reading this forum for some time, and have found it to be very helpful for hearing differing opinions on search engine optimization.
I have began optimizing a couple of my sites, and I can definitely see an increase in SERPs. In many cases I can see myself on the first or second page in some less competitive search terms, because I optimized it for those terms.
Now that I am moving up in the ranks little bit by little bit, I have installed Google Analytics, and am trying to track how my registrations for my online site have been increasing. What our team is really trying to aim for is increasing online registrations with our site.
Now, the question I would like to ask is-- how can I know my SERP increase is helping increase our registrations vs getting visitors and registration by direct traffic (non SERP)?
I can see how many people land on our page from Google and how many land on our page from direct traffic, but how do I know my SERP increase is really working?
If you could shed some light on this matter, it would be appreciated. thanks guys Try checking this thread : http://www.v7n.com/forums/google-for...cker-tool.html
It's all about serp tracking tools. Closing this one since that one is current and well on it's way. No need to repeat since it's there.
Added; apparently the op has a different question than what it appeared per his pm. Re-opening so he can clarify. Hi,
Thanks for opening the thread again.
The question I was asking was primarily about how to know if I am receiving signups from SERPs, and not how to gauge the SERPs exactly. I am already capable of tracking my own exact SERPs, since I usually take screenshots and then notice the terms move up.
Is it possible to know if a registration came from a SERP, if they got there from the landing page?
Basically, how do I know if my new-found search engine result placement is helping my site make money -- since i'm already receiving signups from direct traffic?
Hope that makes sense

If you could shed some light on this matter, it would be appreciated. thanks guys By knowing the keyword position. As all of your keywords are on the top position and if has improved its ranking then it mean that your site serp ranking has improved. And if not good your ranking then get the more traffic to your site with the targeted keyword and provide the useful and unique content also. i usually set goal on my google analytics to track a particular page, you might also want to try it.. hi
you can check the ranking of the perticular page this gives you the idea about your serp. First thing... If you really want to track something, track your visitors.
You may set goals in Google Analytics for that matter.
Second thing, just to track your rankings you must check your keyword rankings manually. If you want track your targeting keywords then you can get help online serp checker tools. many online tools can give you idea about your keywords if your keywords available at least under 50 pages of Google search. If you could shed some light on this matter, it would be appreciated. thanks guys Set a goal in Google Analytics for that specific page(in your case it would signup confirmation page) and traffic the source for that specified page. If traffic coming from that google is increasing that means your SERP is increasing maintain a ranking report for each week. i would help you Quote: Originally Posted by dhuruvan maintain a ranking report for each week. i would help you Do you have any other tips for the thread creator?
