How to get noticed by google?

Okay, so I have put my keywords, description and author name in a text file with I "included" in my welcome page header, my phpbb forum header and my coppermine gallery header. I have put a lot of keywords, a solid description, my website should be pretty easy to find on google, right? Nope.My problem is: My site is named Another Fantasy. My username is Vidda. My featured work are named Stressed and Lancers & Dragoons. Why is that a problem? Well there are millions of sites and projects using the name Another Fantasy. Vidda is a word in some foreign language and also the name of an association. Stressed is a commonly used word and Lancers & Dragoons is a term often used in history sites. When I type any of those keywords, I get the whole internet but my site. And yes I have submitted my site to google and it is indeed in their database. When I search for another-fantasy vidda, it works, but that's about it. So my question is: How do I get noticed by google. Do you guys have any tips on how to make it easy for my site to be in the frist pages of a search engine with people entering a few basic keywords related to my site? Thanks.I dont want to write an essay but...1) There are billions of websites out there trying to be in top 3 just like you2) Google uses a complex system to determine whos gonna be at the top, which includes page loading time, content, how many sites are backlinking to you, their quality and much more...Just use the search button im im sure you will be able to find something hereViddaYou got some work ahead ... First your splash page (bad) contains little more than a copyright notice.(also bad). When I get to the next page I find several links at the top with SID# (really bad).I suggest you go over to the REVIEW FORUM and start there. If your search terms are that competitive then you need many more links. A PR-1 site is not going to rank well.Google only has 3 pages indexed so this is a new site or there is no clear path to follow.Good Luck rtchar wrote:I was hoping someone else would pick up your questions ... guess I have to continue on my own Quote:Ok thanks.About SID#Sorry but as far as I know I can't do anything about it. The whole site's using the phpBB system and I programmed all the non-phpBB/non-mMODs parts (the whole update system that makes my forum behave exactly like a CMS) out of almost-scratch, except I used phpBB's basic functions like template parsing and such. So unless there's a mod that will tell me how to remove SID#, then I can't do anything about it.About PR-1:How do I know the page rank of my site, and, is there a way to raise it. (ie: Make my site better and then get it re-reviewed by google)About google indexing:Right now it shows 6 pages in my broswer, yet again it might be because I'm logged on to my own site... What pages does it show when you index my site's URL, and how do I make it so Google can crawl to more pages?About the keywords:I added keywords in a meta tag, I didn't put them on my site, yet I gotta admit that the splash page has pretty much nothing in matter of text but a simple copyright notice. So perthaps I should add a description -- Or at least a hidden keyword list of some sort? Thanks again.Quote:SID#: Okay, seems like a lot of sacrifices. Do you think that applying some of those changes will help even though I don't apply them all?PR1: I'll try, thanks.Google Indexing: Seems to me like these links are "broken". Their URL exist, yet opening them from Google Indexing seems to lead to an error. Keywords: I'll do that, thanks.I am not the forum guru ... however this is a phpBB forum ...Quote:Quote:Okay.So now I see that Google has updated its cache for my splash page... but that's about it. It didn't update any of the few pages it indexes nor did it crawl through the site any furter than before, while other phpBBs even without the SEO mod have all their forums and topics indexed.Hmmm ... I think I see another part of your problem. If I do a site search Quote:Okay thanks for those informations, but what should I put in .htaccess to make anotherfantasy.uni.cc redirect to http://www.anotherfantasy.uni.cc without it getting stuck in an endless redirecting loop?EDIT: Nevermind I have found out. To get notice by google you should think at the google point of view also, you should implement changes and update your site with the basic requirement to get it notice by them, like adding lots of fresh & relevant content, optimize keywords and title, obtain backlinks from relevant websites.Vidda wrote:
