I selected some keywords for one site which has average competition and search volume. These keywords are ranked very soon also. But for the other site keywords are not ranked in top 10 in google. I am working for these keywords from the last one year. The keywords are related with insurance. The keywords also have average competition and search volume. Can any one explain me why this should happen as the keywords have average competition and search volume but the different field. Well, what works for a site doesn't necessarily mean that it can also work with the other. Maybe you have the right keywords at hand but your optimization effort is not yet showing.. Google Insights For Search is a good way of comparing keywords/phrases against each other to see how much they are searched for over time against each other. are you still targeting the same keywords for 1 year??? have you used it on your submissions??? how many submissions you're doing within a day??....

because, there are some keywords that when over used loss their ranking for some reasons, you spammed it or the keyword optimization that you're doing is just not enough to make your site rank in that keyword....

another is, when choosing keywords, you can also choose keywords that are not that competitive but still have a huge search volume..... your website domain may be new, also you want to do work on your website with your related keywords what you want to do rank. What is your website into? Do a proper keyword research based on your website relevancy and the type of your business. You can use Google adwords tool for keyword research. Apart from finding the relevant keywords, the next step involves short listing a few keywords out of the list generated by the tool. After short listing the keywords, a few keywords should be finalized, depending on the keyword density required in that content. Quote: Originally Posted by Dirajin What is your website into? Also don't try to optimized the high density unique keyword, rather than concentrate on the less density keyword with the unique keyword in it.

Eg. Painting is unique keyword so don't try to work on this keyword rather than concentrate on oil painting, water painting and more. This helps you to target your unique keyword too..

Choose proper keyword selection based on the good search volume and competition. Do competitor analysis and do more off page activities. maybe your website still lacks the appropriate back links to be on 10th rank even though its indexed. or there is another site with the same keyword you're searching which already ranked higher. Use Google keyword tool, then choose those keywords which have 1000+ Global monthly searches. Pick your desired keyword and determine its number of searches. i think you should work on On-page .. if your site's onpage spoil... so your offpage doesn't work.... you can try Google Insights and Google Ad words to find specific keywords related to your site. Do keyword analysis again and select the relevant keyword for the website and then start SEO for these keywords. sometimes the keywords for that particular page is not perfect. you have to either change your keywords either you can wait for the same.

Do off page for the same and wait for sometime. You said that your keyword related from insurance so we should research on that particular keywords before seo work. Nowadays Google give more importance to on page seo. I guess that even by spying on our competitors with allintitle and keywords between quotation marks, we could encounter lucky people getting better indexed on the same keywords, even though they don't have the exact same order, and even though they don't have the keywords in their title.
