How smart is Google

I am just wondering how smart google is.Everyone always says that google has its fair share of P.H.Ds but I have seen some very obvious stuff work on google Serps like obvious spamming text and some other stupid stuff.Do we give them to much credit sometimes.Are we to in awe of them just because they are the biggest.Comments, Suggestions, Donationsheh. smart enough to find this thread soon. lol.they will find the spamming text sooner or later, or you have a better idea to that? heh.A lot of the sites I am competing against are using iffy SEO tactics and have been doing so for months, yet google hasnt copped on.They are not even subtle about it and it affects the sites they design in a bad way with nonsense content and 80 alt words in images yet they still rank high.Google seems to depend on people to report these sites and apparently hasnt enough people to deal with the reports.with all the talk about the google algo and the ammount of time they have to develop it I would think they could make it a bit smarter.I've seen alot of sites using very visible deceptive tactics and they rank high as well...things like hidden text and invisible links...stuff you would think would be easy for G to spot. I've tried the repoting thing but all I get is a canned reply saying they will work on their algo to stop these techniques....bla bla bla.Google is the smartest one but not smart yet.You are searching for "cheap goods" but all the first results have the mainly the most expensive goods available on the net IOI will we see the days that google choose the sites that sells expensive goods but they are ranking at "cheap goods" keyword?Hey Darksat cant you change the "Dont Know" option as "Not Sure" ?Sorry I can't
