Sine my site has gotten a PR of 5, googlebot is crawling it 90% of the time, what about you guys?I have seen that the higher PR you have, the more you will get spidered. Just my experience.Yeah, I've heard that also.Yup, the higher your PR and the more pages you have, the more you're spidered.Google's almost constantly on my site. Whenever I look at who's been to one of my sites in a 30 minute history, I always see several Google, MSNBot & Yahoo/Inktomi bots have been.GoogleBot is there everyday now. Microsoft is there a lot also. Inktomi - not as much.I get single hits to my index.htm and site map page almost everyday. Then every 6 days or so it grabs about 100 of the 400 pages on the site.google hits really depend on the changes made on the pages, doesnt' it? I've heard google favor pages that change frequently.I think that Google hits because of a number of thingsHow often the page is updated and to what extentHow many links the page has pointing to itThe PR of the pageIs the page listed in DMOZ or notgood one ccb056. what you have just said makes sense to me..Well, yeah, I think it can hit the site more the more it gets updated, however it can only GUESS how often the page gets updated based upon past experience. If a page doesn't get updated for 3 months, then gets updated a dozen times in a week, the latest page may still not show up in the index cache for another coupla months.Being in dmoz has nothing to do with it. I showed no unusual increase in traffic after my main site got in dmoz than the regular growth & regularity I was seeing for the previous 18 months. It also doesn't hurt to add new pages as well as updating the existing ones.Axe wrote:I think being listed in DMOZ is the same as being linked to from a popular site. It only assures that you will be crawled eventually. The category my customers list in is only a PR3 page....not really worth the wait time. With the time it takes to get listed in DMOZ you can get indexed in google faster by getting a link from a site that gets crawled regularly....like ozzu!
