I have a website and I have linked with around 10 websites but then my PageRank still 0. Actually how many websites do I need to link, just to have at least 1 PageRank? I also did=> link:mywebsiteaddressherebut the result also zero. Please help a noob here...heheh... There is no certain number of sites you need, its the amount of quality sites you get listed on. Some quick ones, well directories, that will def give you some PR. or at least quicker listing, are DMOZ, Joeant, Gimpsy, and Goguides. If you linked (I mean external links pointing to you) very recently you will need to wait for the next PR update and if your not even listed yet, the spiders still have to find you. The last one was around the first week on this month. The more sites you have pointing to you, the quicker you will get listed, then eventually your PR will grow. And an easy way to see PR is with the Google toolbar, which can also be used to see all your backlinks (hit the info button) from sites with a PR4 or above.Yeah, I installed Google Toolbar also. Thanks for the info, I will wait until next wait. I had around 10 links to me and had a 0 PR. Then the next update came and it went to 3. You'll be fine come the next update. When I started with SEO and PageRank our site had just one backlink from a PR5 site. And with the next update it jumped to PR4 with just 1 back links. So more than the number of links its the quality / PR of the site linking to you.Cheersi still need to find sites that'll link to me...hahaJust look at your competition's backlinks. Thats an easy way to find them. When did your site go live?PR is updated on a daily basis, but the Google taskbar only updates every 4 weeks or so.ClareI would recomend making quality posts here (not spam) and having a link to your site in you profile and in your signatureThis is because most of the threads here get a Google PR of 4 and that means with one link from here you will have a PR of 3It looks like you are using phpBB, I would recomend you read my phpBB SEO guide so that the spiders can crawl your forums (It looks like youre giving session id's to guests)Once you've removed the session id's I may be willing to participate in a link exchange with you, this would provide many links to both your site and my siteccb056 wrote:LOL <-- Example not non value added post for those who care^A little bit more value added^Now its getting a little spammy Try this.Backlink value calculator Link weight calculator http://www.php-mysql-team.com/backlink_ ... ulator.phpThat was a good one answer by "ccb056" and "cyberax". They are absolutely correct.Cyberax have said more in just a few words, thats gr8 one.Don't spam, just have quality backlinks or reciprocal linking to your site will be more than enough.Puneet.ccb056 wrote:I would agree that by posting on forums like these you can obtain a higher PR position. Also add yourself to the DMOZ directory or you can pay for inclusion in GoGuides.orgMore quality backlinks = higher PRe.g 1 x PR7 backlink is worth more than 16 PR6 backlinksHope this helps Matthttp://www.mattward.co.uk
