Consider the two scenarios
I have a site with the age of 1 year How many months it take to rank a keyword for that site.?
On the other hand i have new website and how many months it take rank a keyword for this site? Something only google knows. Your job is to try and try continuously. Well it is really a big question and asked so many times.
It all depends on your efforts and depends on the competition of keyword which you will choose.
But 5-6 months is enough to get a rank in first page of Google with only white hat methods. I think your question is wrong because time is not issue is it 10-11 months or more. If you are trying to use a popular word than it will definitely get traffic.

JhonMoney There's a lot of factors to consider here in addition to the age of the domain:
2. The competitiveness of the keywords you're targeting.
3. The strength of the domains you're receiving links from.
3. How many links you're acquiring per day.
Even knowing these to a perfect T it's difficult to guess how long'll take to rank since it depends on the link profiles of the other sites too. The best you can do is optimise your own link building process as much as possible so:
1. Choose keywords that though easier to rank for still receive a high number of local monthly searches.
2. Seek out higher page rank domains than your own.
3. For forums and blogs post comments that are good enough that you're 100% sure they'll be accepted - but don't spend a second more. This means you're building links as fast as possible without risking that being wasted time through rejected comments etc. Keep quality in mind!
Thanks!
Peetr It depend upon your keyword destiny normal keyword take 3 month and high keyword 6 month or some time whole year. Assuming that you are trying to rank on the same keyword which is not much competitive, the older domain will rank fast provided the older domain have good PR.
For instance, if you try to rank on a zero percent competitve keyword say "qsxwdcefvrgbthn",
If you try this keyword using yahoo answers, then u'll rank No1 within 30 minutes! But if you make a new domain (without the keyword) and create a page with the domain then it'll take a few days to start ranking.
In short, the reputation of the domain in the eyes of google matters! Then comes, the domain age. And the offsite, onside SE0 Quote: Originally Posted by echovme http://www.v7n.com/forums/seo-forum/242565-how-many-moths-take-rank-keywords.html#post1627497

And by the way, just forget about the domain age and keyword density. Focus on making your site accessible for search engine crawlers and providing your visitors with helpful content or excellent products/services. (my two cents)
I would also suggest you to read Google's Beginners Guide and SEOmoz Beginner's Guide to SEO so would have at least the fundamentals.
For me it takes about 3 months to see results. Not huge results, but being able to look at stats and see more Google traffic and incoming keywords. On-site SEO doesn't take long, so that's really a minimum of 2 hours a week building backlinks. Of course, I've been doing SEO work for years on my sites with the most Google traffic. The longer the steady campaign goes the better. I think it's about how strong competitors in your niche, my niche is average, i'v got page 3 at google around 1 month, but seems to get to page 2, and 1 the competitive is more difficult It depends upon the competition for that keyword and content on your site. It also depends upon how many quality backlinks you get from relevant sites. If your site is brand new, you probably want to develop links over time in a fairly consistent manner.
If you grow x links this month then you want to create x or more the next month.
And that number sets the baseline for the following month. Months where you have no viral marketing ideas try to list your site in a few quality directories, What keyword? A 5 word long tail one without competition? Less than a week for either choice.
A 1-2 word phrase with millions of results, it could take a year or more if it's even possible.
