The ideal number of words for a site content/article should at least 300 words and a maximum of 500. Although you meet the desired size for an article and have it done without putting enough informative points, it will be useless though. While 300-500 words is a good rule of thumb - there is actually no SPECIFIED AMOUNT OF TEXT needed to rank a page.

Some pages with a lot of text will rank well, some with a small of text will rank well.

Ranking is largely to do with the domain authority of a site, and how relevent a page is to a search query.

Rather than count words, ensure you have lots of related words and terms on the page as well as the keyterm you want to rank for.

PS - Keyword density is a myth - there is no magic sweet point. if anyone thinks differently, please provide evidence. Quote: Originally Posted by elena1234 hello Buddy,

For press release i will write 450-550 worlds articles.
For bookmarking, directory submission i will use 40 to 50 words. I think the quantity might vary from different search engines. But 300 - 450 words for every single article or post would be OK enough, IMO.

Have a nice day, I suggest to create content for your visitors and not just SE purpose, just what google suggest.. since users are the one who read it.. focusing on how are you going to place kw can ruin what you are trying to deliver for your readers..
