I used to run a small blog directory catered towards fitness bloggers. (I'm a gym junkie and i read tons of blogs on health + fitness.) It took off and those that were on my directory saw anywhere between 30-2000% increase in blog traffic.
The spin on it was that I actually ran analytics for them: page rank, # of inbound links, # of mentions on twitter/facebook/social media, pageviews, where and when the users were coming from, etc etc. And with that info, I basically had an "algorithm" to rank the blogs accordingly. (Obviously, higher rank = more traffic.) It got kinda rough as far as keeping server up, not to mention I had a full time gig doing other stuff, so I stopped. I wanted to get start again... but this time I wanted to ask the actual bloggers before making this directory.
1) is this something you bloggers would be interested in?
2) what problems (technical and/or marketing) do you have that would like to see solved?
