How do they know?

I know most of hosters don't allow nulled VBulletin.. all are saying it's not allowed and thats on their TOS too but my question is how could hosters know it's a nulled VB we are using? do they have any special technology or they only know it when some one report about that ?
If reporting system is the only way they can know about using nulled version it's not so risky to use a nulled VB.. but if they have any special method to know about our VB then it's a big problem...

Never heard of a host that busted someone for a nulled vB without it having been reported to them first. The only thing a host cares about as far as content is anything that a) exceeds your allowed disk space or bandwidth or b) violates their TOS as far as porn, warez, spam, terrorism etc. If nothing is reported to them, you're good to go.

oh thanks Grinderhand..
so that means as far as our site not been reported we are safe...

What chaotic_geo means is don't change/customize or eliminate entirely the copyright notice in your footer:

Steph enough is enough if your so dam scared then buy vbulletin then your set no worries.

If you used a nulled version then dont broadcast your using it and as stated above keep copy rights in place. Also monitor your members and such.

Using a nulled version may end up in having to change host or buying a legal copy.

Stop asking the same thing over and over and this topic has been covered more times than I care to count...maybe a mod will close this.

The purpose of starting this thread has fulfilled... Thanks to everyone who add their valuable comments... If anyone have anymore questions i think it's good to open another thread..
