Okey dokey, I have created my guestbook, I think <img src="http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":unsure:" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> and I'm looking at all these funky "templets" - what do I do with those? Please use small words...I'm clueless...<br /><br />Also to set up a guestbook on sites that are not hosted by TCH (but will be next year) where can I find a no-brainer script installer thingy for a guestbook that I can simply cut and paste on to my sites. <br /><br />Thanks<br /> <img src="http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> <br /><br /><br />FARSCAPE: THE PEACEKEEPER WARS! Sorry, I don't know the answer but I will move it to a more appropriate area for better exposure.<!--content-->
In the guestbook admin, you can edit the php template files <br />if you change the files permissions to 777, using ftp.<br /><br />It helps to know html and php.<br /><br />Generally its best to back up the files first,<br />I download the whole guestbook so I have a backup on my computer.<br />You should only make slight changes at at time,<br />as its easy to render the guestbook useless.<br /><br />You can also change the colors in the style menu, <br />that part is easy<!--content-->
Here are some links that might help a little. <img src="http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /><br /><br />Don, I haven't had to change the permissions on the templates to change them - I just downloaded them in Dreamweaver, made the change, saved, and uploaded. But I'm sure it's different depending on where you do the edits.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3116&hl=" target="_blank">A useful thread</a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12735&hl=guestbook" target="_blank">Another thread</a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=11696&hl=guestbook" target="_blank">Yet another thread</a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7509&hl=" target="_blank">And one more thread</a><!--content-->
Yep, with ftp, you do not have to change permissions.<br />Just need to if you use the admin.<!--content-->
