I run a computer repair service and I would like to optimize separate pages for separate surrounding suburbs and the main city that I live in with is omaha nebraska. Omaha has about 5 suburbs outside of it that are much smaller and have much less competition.
So i would like to rank highly for those suburbs first by using different specific optimized pages for each
for example:
website .com / omaha /
website .com / suburb 1 /
website .com / suburb 2 /
website.com / suburb 3 /
But I'm running into the problem of not being able to figure out how to avoid having duplicate content.
I want to rank highly for each suburb and also eventually for the main city but that has more competition so I want to know how to avoid having duplicate content but still rank highly for each individual page. I want each to have its own rank for that particular area but I dont know how to do that without producing 5 or 6 multiples of the exact same page with just different address, so my main question is
how to do this will out having a duplicate content issue. ?
Any help would be appreciated
thanks You need to add Google location specific features like Google maps, local phone number, address etc.,. Apart from these you may need to do normal SEO activities with page title and url reflecting the main keywords attached with the cities you target for. In order to get rank for places, you need to list your site in Local Directory Listing such as Google Places, Local Yahoo, Local Bing, Yellowpages, superpages, etc. try to search for other local directory listing site and you can submit your site for getting your business directory listed. Would anything like this also apply to selling something something outside of your own location but internationally? ex: Living in US, but have a website selling real estate in another country You should meta geographic to you sites individual pages to rank better in different suburb - Create sub domains for different location
- Get deeplinks for each domain from respective geographic location
- Create Sitemap for different domains
- Submit your website to local classified websites for respective cities
- List your business on Google maps for individual cities
- Submit your website to local search engines
- Try to get citations
- Set your geo target location in Google webmaster tools
