How Do i get my site on search engines? (heh)I would suggest manually submitting to many, take a few hours to do this, you will also need more content on your page(s)- need title tags, meta-tags, you may also want to look in a free url redirector before submittingalso trade links with other sites that are already indexed in the search engines, so that the search engines will spider your site as well...
here are great tools that analysis your web site's presence
by the way, I think this thread should be in the :Search Engine Tactic forum!:DThe Holy Grail of questions.
There are so many schools of thought. My first suggestion would be to make sure you have content on your site. If you have content then sites like Google will rank you higher. Google also works by ranking you on how will you do with links on other sites listed by them.

Get a Yahoo submission, do it correctly and don't hassle them after submission. It can take 6 months or more to get a submission but be patient. Other search engines will head over to Yahoo to start their spiders searching. If your site is for profit you will prob have to pay Yahoo for a submission.

Also avoid a frames layout. Some spiders have problems getting into your framed content.

Have good meta tags but at the same time don't over do it. Do a search for meta tags and you will get some good advice.

Believe me you can study this area of web design too much... don't neglect your site and don't burn out... site submission can demoralise you especially if you don't get the hits. Take a break from it... come back to it a week later. Look at it from a new angle. A good site will always win in the end so concentrate on that first and foremost.
