Hi all,

I have a website whichlist villa properties. To find a villa you drill down villa via country and then property type. So if looking for a villa in barbados you go to Barbados page (which then has 3 categories, Barbados Villas, barbados Apartments and then Hotels) You then click to view all my Barbados villas.

However when i search for "Barbados Villa" on google the first page from my site to be indexed is the Barbados page - not the page which lists over 30 barbados villa properties.

Hiow can I change this so that the search will return the Barbados villa page and not require users to click down further when they arrive at my site.

thanks in advance guys.

Well the easy question to answer is about PR. Get links to point to the page and that page's PR will rise. I have internal pages with the same PR as my home page. I spend way more time building links to my internal pages than my home page.

Another possible way to adjust google results is with a sitemap. In your xml sitemap you can adjust each page's relative importance. I don't know in practice just how effective that is. Instead of the parent page, you focus on the page you want to rank and boost page rank. When building links, point the links to that page and dont forget to target the right keywords. If you want to work on your internal page to have a high PR, try to focus on the internal page by building links, promo ads, online group posting etc. Prioritize first the internal page that you want to optimize..you can target that page as the landing page of your anchor text but be sure the relevancy of the keyword to the landing page as well plus the kw density of it on the page...this way this will be easy for you to ranked that page.. PR is calculated through backlinks, so that means that you need to get more backlinks.
links exchange, blog ,leave signature at do follow forum, directory. An alternate route: Rather than trying to get the horse to turn around, ride it the direction it's already headed.

Move the villa content to the barbados page to reside with the data there and leave the other two sections as subcats. It may sound clunky, but it is immediate and effective. hi,

You have to build more links to your site and do more text changes on your site to start ranking. Build links using the internal page you want. Make sure that when you are link building, the page where you want to rank high for must be used.
