How do I display a Favicon

How do I display a Favicon. I deleted the vbulletin favicon that came with vbulletin and I'm using a custom template. Any idea how I could display the favicon? I'm not asking for the HTML code. I'm asking where I should put the code. I edited FORUMHOME and it only appears in the homepage.

Thanks but I did put my favicon in the root. But it doesn't show up. I'm using a custom template so I think the company forgot to include the favicon while coding it. So which template should I edit?
 
just upload the favicon file via ftp to your forum home then close your browser

restart the browser & it will be there, if not clear your internet cache
